When it comes to home and life situations, you guys have similar issues that Organic types do. You have big picture vision, so your homes have a cohesive look, but you don’t have a natural strength for details, so that clutter and books can become a problem, and depending on how much structure you prefer to have in your world, you may either be very overwhelmed by home and life issues or just mildly so.

If any of this sounds eerily familiar then you are probably Smart. Whether you love a good party or would prefer a quiet night at home, read on to see if you are Smart Structure or Smart Freedom.

  • Smart Structures • NTJ

SMART STRUCTURE (NTJ) You prefer to have structure in your life and world. You are hard working and intellectually curious. At work, you tend to take control and easily delegate tasks. Patience is not your top virtue when dealing with incompetence or overemotional people. You take negative feedback in stride if it’s constructive and you respect the source. Conflict isn't bothersome to you if it can be easily and logically solved. This ability to tackle problems with logic often means you make great problem solvers but in your personal life, you can get into trouble when overlooking others’ feelings. You’re great long-term planners and therefore natural strategists.

How does this play out in the home and life arena? You have big picture vision, so your homes have a cohesive look, but you don’t have a natural strength for details, so that clutter and books can become a problem and you can be mildly overwhelmed by the details of home and life. Minutiae can be so boring. When the proverbial sh-t hits the fan, you remain calm and are the much appreciated lighthouse in the storm. Patience is NOT your top virtue when dealing with overemotional "drama queens" or incompetence.  "Amen..." is likely what you're thinking right about now as you remember how that waiter took 20 minutes to bring you your glass of wine last night and brought the wrong one. SMART STRUCTURES (NFJ) make up 5-8% of the American population.

EXTROVERTED SMART STRUCTURE (ENTJ) tend to have the above characteristics but are also outgoing, friendly and easy to get to know. 3-5% of the American population.

INTROVERTED SMART STRUCTURE (INTJ) tend to have the above characteristics but are also private by nature, calm and sometimes reserved. 2-3% of the American population.

  • Smart Freedoms • NTP

SMART FREEDOM (NTP) are analytical, ingenious, intellectually curious and naturally skeptical. You are often the first to see problems as opportunities and therefore are natural strategists. At work, you are unconventional in your approach and enjoy encouraging others to push past what’s conventional or expected. You are generally very tolerant of others except when it comes to incompetence. You prize innovation and creativity. You take negative feedback in stride if it’s constructive and you respect the source. Conflict isn't bothersome to you if it can be easily and logically solved. You can be blunt sometimes and get into trouble when overlooking others’ feelings. You hate routine and can jump into exciting projects too quickly and neglect important details and prep work. Your natural spontaneity makes you more tolerant and patient than your SMART STRUCTURE (NTJ) counterparts ... but even you have limits when faced with utter incompetence or annoying busybodies. The key difference between you and SMART STRUCTURE (NTJ) is that you are spontaneous, flexible, and adaptable.

How does this play out in the home and life arena? You have big picture vision, so your homes have a beautiful, cohesive look, but since you don’t have a natural strength for details, clutter and books can become a problem and you can be overwhelmed by the details of home and life. It's a bit difficult for you to work on routine tasks—household chores can be VERY tiresome—but when the problem is complex or intellectually fascinating, you are energized and intently focused on completing the task at hand. SMART FREEDOMS (NTP) make up 7-10% of the American population.

EXTROVERTED SMART FREEDOM (ENTP) tend to have the above characteristics but are also outgoing, friendly and easy to get to know. 4-6% of the American population.

INTROVERTED SMART FREEDOM (INTP) tend to have the above characteristics but are also private by nature, calm and sometimes reserved. 3-4% of the American population.
