In the Zone

http://www.sustainableisgood.com/blog/images/2007/07/09/nutrisystem.jpgSo all these system diets — Nutrisystem, The Zone, Jenny Craig, etc. — are very, very appealing to me, an Organic Freedom. And I suspect that they’d be good for a Smart Freedom too. Why? Because they do all the hard work and detail involved in preparing & eating food. For those types who rely heavily on the “phone dialing” kitchen, having fresh, healthy, nutritious meals delivered to your house is a luxury, but possibly one that’s worth it.

I can’t imagine Classics or Funs spending the money on these types and the only thing that has prohibited me from trying one is a lack of funds. I would have been on that bandwagon in a minute if I could fork over the cash.

I think Organic Structures and Smart Structures would also do well with these diets. Smarts have no trouble paying for things they’d rather not do. If their time costs more than the time involved in making something they will gladly pay for someone else to do it, especially if they have no interest in cooking. But, Organic Structures might have trouble making the leap into this one if money is an issue (and in the real world, how often is it not?)

The downsides to these programs is that you have to eat what they give you. And though you can choose your meals, who’s to say you’ll be in the mood for something when it’s all you’ve got? There isn’t a lot of flexibility in plans like this which would certainly inhibit the Smart Freedoms and Organic Freedoms.

Basically it’s like having a private chef cook nutritious, healthy meals for you on a regular, daily basis. It’s great as long as you can always have or afford this kind of chef. Problem is that it won’t teach you, in hands on way, how to eat healthy on your own. What happens, for instance, when you eat out? We suggest trying these types when you’ve tried all the others, want to lose weight and need a jump start. Have someone else do all the portion and calorie counting FOR you. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it

Best for Organic Freedoms and Smart Freedoms
