Fun Fridays

Today is the first of many fun tidbits that we’ll share with you about personality type. So, why are we making you dork out with us?? It’s three-part logic really. (1) It’s FRIDAY!! (2) Fridays make me feel like a kid again and (3) I was a dork as a kid. Here’s your first fun fact: a girl who’s into dinosaurs as a child will almost certainly be hopelessly geeky as an adult and possibly a distraught Cleveland Browns fan.

Little Engines That Can

 

If you’re sick of your huge planner or keep forgetting to sync your smart phone, then consider this little pocket diary. Both my sister, a Classic and I an Organic Freedom used them happily for a number of years. They are so small, they not only fit in your purse, they fit in your wallet! You can keep track of the days by ripping out the dotted corner on the top, or use the handy ribbon to keep your place. You can even have your name printed on the cover each year.

Go Somewhere Fabulous

When it comes to scheduling, there are two kinds of people — planners and trackers. The planners like to look at their week and schedule their world. They thrive on To Do lists, and feel best when they can cross stuff off. These would be the Classics, Organic Structures and Smart Structures.

Trackers like to live in the moment, taking each day as it comes, getting things done when they’re moved. They only need a planner to keep track of their plans. These would be the Fun types and the Organic Freedoms. and Smart Freedoms

Planning for Planners.

If you find that your To-Do list seems endless and you're not getting it all done then perhaps the problem is that you’re over-scheduling. Classics are the guiltiest when it comes to stuffing a day full of an impossibly long list but all personality types can find themselves doing it. To reign in this tendency, use a planning system that has a built-in feature to help you wean & prioritize your To-do's. This might be a “Duh!” to many but you’d be surprised how many don’t adequately prioritize their time.

Big Picture Dreams

We know about Day-Timer because both our parents have used them for as long as we can remember. They even inspired me to get a Filofax, which at the time was more hip and much smaller. But now Day-Timer has all known shapes and sizes, both loose leaf and bound, with To Do lists, Monthly, Weekly, and Day calendars and lots of accessories. They also have beautiful and stylish covers and coordinating bags. Your choice: basic or fully loaded.
